The Idea behind the Start of CNN
So, did you know that CNN was founded in 1980 by Ted Turner?
The idea behind the station was to create a cable news channel devoted to providing 24-hour television news-related coverage, and it was the first of its kind in the United States.
Since its inception, CNN has expanded its reach to over nine hundred affiliate local stations and several regional and foreign-language networks around the globe.
CNN has been at the forefront of every significant news-related event since its inception over 30 years ago, so what else makes it so important?

The show aired from 1985 until 2010, making it CNN's longest-running program.
The show kept audiences due to the interviewee features, from White House interviews to prison cells to unique locations.
There were very few locations where King would not go to get "the story."
Anderson Cooper is among the notable CNN team.
He was initially co-anchor of a show entitled American Morning along with Paula Zahn and later became a prime-time anchor for CNN.
Anderson Cooper became a staple in America's most coveted events when he began hosting The CNN New Year's Eve special from Time Square.
Noted CNN programming today would include CNN Newsroom with anchors Carol Costello, Kyra Phillips, Suzanne Malveaux, and Brooke Baldwin.

The original name of the CNN website was CNN Pipeline which required subscribers to pay.
It provided live video streams from four sources, and the subscription allowed on-demand access to various news stories but was only compatible with Microsoft Windows.
The pipeline was discontinued, and a free service was implemented when it launched its news website titled CNN.com 42 years ago.
CNN.com is one of the most popular news sites worldwide, and social media and blogs have had a tremendous impact on the site, making it more accessible to its viewers.
The website still offers updated information for news-related stories and allows site users to pinpoint areas of Interest.
The sites feature tabs in several areas of news, such as sports, TV & video, news pulse, US, world, politics, living, health, money, opinion, etc.
Is it any wonder that CNN is so popular today?
